How important do you think a lesson plan is to a successful lesson? What features do you think a lesson plan should include?
A lesson plan is important because through it, you have a step by step of what  it is to be achieved or accomplish with this lesson, a lesson plan helps solve problems and difficulties, offers a well-planned structure, purpose, objectives, contents, methodologies, develop skills, etc. A lesson plan is important because it provides a roadmap and records what has been taught.
The characteristics that a lesson plan must include:

1. Identify and recognize the student needs
2. That lesson objectives are useful.
3. For recovering the prior knowledge and to have a relationship with the cultural environment.
4. That it can  improve teacher performance.
5. Containing materials and equipment needed. technological equipment, flashy educational materials.
6. That having activities necessary to achieve the objectives and also appropriate knowledge.
7. That having an evaluation with which strengths and weaknesses are identified and this allows reinforce doubts and concerns.

Do you think it is a good idea to strictly follow a lesson plan? Why?

Yes, it is a good idea because a curriculum can achieve learning through well-planned objectives and activities and experiences that promote learning.

Some people think that lesson plans severely restrict teachers’ creativity. Do you agree? Explain your answer

I think not, on the contrary, a lesson plan helps find the goal  to transmit learning and to plan with details to use tools and resources that will facilitate the development of the proposed activities. For example, if a lesson  is planned which include the use of information and communications technology  will be possible to awaken that innovation and creativity in teaching to propose new ways of acquiring knowledge.

Steven Torres answers
How important do you think a lesson plan is to a successful lesson? What features do you think a lesson plan should include?

I think that perform a lesson plan is a successful way to organize the topics that are going to be taught, taking into account different steps that serves as guide to reach activities goals. I also think that a lesson plan should include activities for each stages. Those activities must be related with the goals that were set previously in order to get students reach objectives and track teachers performance while teaching. An specific features would be:

WIPPEA

Warm up and review ( Review previous lesson )
Introduction ( Focus on the lesson objective)
Presentation ( Present new information)
Practice ( Students practice the new knowledge )
Summative Evaluation ( Evaluate attainment of lesson objective)
Application ( Apply new knowledge in a new situation )

B. Do you think it is a good idea to strictly follow a lesson plan? Why?

I think the decisions and final results to strictly follow a lesson plan depends on of several aspects such as learner’s ;level, needs interest and teacher understanding, time and resources available. Lesson planning is a vital component of teaching and learning process; however, is not necessary to strictly follow the lesson plan because there will be sometimes problems during the class that teachers need to solve them in a dynamic way without losing the purpose of the class.

C. Some people think that lesson plans severely restrict teachers’ creativity. Do you agree? Explain your answer.

I do not agree because before planning a lesson plan teachers tent to look for the best way to create activities that allows them to reach the objectives of the class, being creative according to the target group. Therefore, teachers always focus on activities that make students learn and enjoy. When teachers realize that students enjoy a class, this means that their activities are the correct ones.
